Great experience of Nepal with MTN

Mountain Treks Nepal did a great job helping us with our Everest Base Camp Trek. My sons arrived in Nepal a week before me and I asked them to see if they could arrange a porter and or guide for our Trek. They were staying at a hotel just outside Thamel, Thamel Backbackers Home where Mountain Treks is located. Bharat, the Manager of the Hotel and Mountain Treks, arranged for a porter guide to meet us in Lukla. Because of weather we were unable to get to Lukla but instead flew into Paplu and took a helecopter to Surkhe, about 600 meters below Lukla. Using a local Ncell SIM card that Bharat had advised me to get and showed me how to use, we contacted our guide, Buddhi, who met us at the lower location and our trek began.

Buddhi was awesome. A very knowledgeable and experienced guide and a great person. He made sure we acclimatized well, lead us to some fantastic side adventures on our acclimatization days, navigated all of the permits (Bharat had advised us that we could do this on the trail and did not need to in advance) and Tea house reservations and meals, ran back several miles for us when we forgot a phone, and was a enjoyable companion.

During the Trek Bharat was always in contact with us or Buddhi to make sure things were going well and was a good communicator through Ncell and What’s App when we had any problems.

On our return we had 4 days down time and wanted to get out of Katmandu to unwind but didn’t want to go too far. He recommended Nagarkot, a mountain resort area and arranged transportation to the Fort Resort, an old getaway for Royals converted into an outstanding hotel overlooking the Himalayas in peaceful gardens where we vegetated until we had to leave.

I highly recommend Mountain Treks and Bhuddi. An awesome and successful experience.
