Everest Region
The Everest Region is situated in eastern Nepal. Everest Region is also known as Khumbu. It lies in Sagarmatha zone and Solukhumbu District. It is protected by the Sagarmatha National Park. This park was established in 1976 and has an area of 1148 square kilometres. The park is mostly composed of the rugged territory and ravines of the high Himalayas. The altitude ranges from 2,845 meters (9,330 ft.) above sea level to the top of the world, Mt. Everest 8848 meters (29,028 ft.). Mt. Everest the highest peak of the world has been the greatest attraction for the nature lovers and trekkers. Solukhumbu is the centre of the Everest Region. This is an ideal place for exploring the unique Sherpa culture with the path filled with colourful prayer flags, painted Mani walls, alluring Monasteries and the beauty of the Himalayas.
Everest Region is one of the most famous trekking regions in Nepal. It has also gained its popularity for peak climbing and expedition. This region offers varieties of trekking route on the foothill of Mt. Everest like Kala Patthar Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek, Gokyo Cho-La Pass Trek, Gokyo-Ri Trek, Everest View Trek, Everest High Pass Trek, Everest Panorama Trek etc. Everest Region trekking takes through wonderful Sherpa Villages, among the world’s awe-inspiring peaks. The primary goal of an Everest trek is stepping at least the Everest base camp which is about 5340 meters. There is also an opportunity to climb Kala Pattar which is 5,554 meters, from where we can get some spectacular views of Mt. Everest and other giants Himalayas which will be the best experience. The trek from Jiri to Lukla is often uncrowded and therefore much better trekking option. From Namche, the trek follows the Lukla to Everest base camp route and the flies out from Lukla. Throughout the trek, the trekkers will be overwhelmed with its beauty.
