Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) is the highest peak in the world standing at an elevation of 8848 meters (29028 ft.) above sea level. Sir Edmund Hillary and Late Tenzing Norge Sherpa first summited this peak on May 29, 1953, via the South Col, after a long relentless effort. Everest Base Camp is located in the north of Khumbu region at a height of 18000 ft. All the international climbers assemble here during the starting of climbing and at the ending of their climbing. Generally, the duration of Everest expedition is almost more than 59 days, and it can last up to about 65 days.

Mt. Everest climbing has proved to be a standard of climbing attainment. The mountain receives around 1000 summit attempts every year. Mt. Everest can be climbed both from the southern side Nepal and northern side Tibet. The southern approach to the mountain is through the Khumbu Valley, which became very popular among the climbers.
