Trekking in Annapurna Base Camp is done throughout the year. However, different months provide a different experience. So, it depends upon your choice when to go. Seasons which are favorable for trekking in this region are:

Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Spring Season

Spring (March-May), at over 4,000 meters, usually, there is extreme cold in the morning and evening. With the slowly emerging of heat, the warmth makes you comfortable and feel easy while hiking in this season. For an awesome and crystal view of Himalayas, April is the best month for every nature lover.

While at may, there is less chance of rainfall but the weather seems warmer. Blossoms of Rhododendron, amazing mountain peaks, landscapes, and lush green forests are the main attraction of the tourists. You will see an amazing view everywhere. The accommodation also might be a problem for you during this season due to the higher number of tourists.

Late spring is pre-monsoon and rainfall usually occurs during this month. Due to pre-monsoon weather seems slight haze and precipitation at mid-day. However, the lower part of this Annapurna region is very hot during this season so it is better to dress in the layer.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Summer Season

(June-July-August) is commonly known as monsoon season in Nepal. At day time, the temperature is so hot but at night it is moderate. During this season, the weather is unpredictable so there might be rainfall within an hour. Usually, clouds cover the whole mountains so might not be able to observe the clear views. Hence, this season is wet, humid, and hazy.

During this season, muddy and leech-infested can be found in the lower region of Annapurna. The average temperature at Annapurna Base Camp during this season is 17-18 degrees Celsius at day time and 10-12 degrees Celsius at night. Hence, this is not the actual favorable time to visit the Annapurna region.

Walking through trails you can observe flora and faunas. So this season is mostly preferred by Botanists and researchers for their work. Due to heavy rainfall, pollution and dust will take away. This is the only advantage of trekking during this season. And the main important thing during this season is to pack waterproof as well as lightweight gears.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Autumn

Autumn(September-November) is the best season for peak climbing and explore Annapurna Base Camp. The temperate climate, stable climatic condition, and crystal-clear scenic views make your journey best in the Annapurna region.

This is the time when monsoon rain has already washed and clear weather makes your trek easier. Amazing mountain views from the viewpoint, dazzling nights, landscapes, and much other attraction of tourists can be observed easily. On the lower altitude, days are normally at the average temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and usually, nights are above freezing point.

During this season accommodation and food for you might be difficult for you. Due to favorable weather conditions, this area is full crowd during this season. More number of tourists visit this region so that it might be difficult for accommodation. So, it is better to book rooms before starting your trip.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Winter Season

(December-January-February) is most challenging season for trekking in Nepal. This season is most favorable for those trekkers who want to have some thrill during their trekking journey. The winter is the most coldest season in Nepal. It is very hard for every trekkers to trek in Annapurna region during this season.

Keeping ourselves warmer is most important thing during this season. A lot of snowfall makes their trip more interesting and enjoyable. Though the weather is cold, some of the trekkers prefer this season for a thrilling experience. With a cold environment, you will have an awesome warm meal at Tea Houses. Some tea houses give you permission to enter the kitchen for making you warm. So, for having a trek in Annapurna Base Camp during winter you need to be physically fit and healthy.
